Hotel Cortese - פלרמו

Even though the room was quite small it was really clean. The hotel is located in a central location close to all important buildings.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old part of Palermo. There are a maze of narrow streets and it can be tricky to find, but it is worth the effort. Just behind the hotel are the daily markets which at nighttime are the bars and restaurants for the university crowd. This area is not for everyone but suited us down to the ground. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you enjoy your stay in Palermo. We always felt safe in the hotel - don't be put off by the unkempt appearance of the streets in the area.

the area of this hotel is very rundown,i made sure i was in my room before dark as i did not want to take any chances,i would advise any travellers to avoid this hotel.

The location is close to many popular tourist destinations, personnel was quite helpful.

Not all the staff spoke English, the location doesn't seem to be really safe at night, noisy area.

I liked the location near Ballaro Market and our balcony which faced the market where you could see the daily activity there. I also felt the hotel personnel was extremely gracious, welcoming and accommodating.

A clean friendly budget hotel centrally situated for the sights of Palermo. Staff recommended local restaurant and directions to bus stops etc., as well as organising airport transport. Highly recommended.

At first, difficult to find.

The quality of the hotel was extremely good for the cost. The location was a short walk/taxi-ride from the main train station. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

A good no-nonsense accommodation in a nice building in the historic center of Palermo, and yet away from the worst noise and pollution from traffic. Helpful staff and an "almost all right" basic continental breakfast.

The shover in our room was about the size of an overcoat making showering a bit difficult.More a good advise than a complaint: It can be hard to find the hotel in the labyrinth of streets around Ballaro Market. Use the signs from Via Victor Emanuel or from Via Maqueda.

access by your own car is not an easy job

Although English was a bit of a barrier, the family seemed really nice. The rooms were really nice.

breakfast was literally a couple of pieces of bread and juice, internet was limited to one hour (saying this we were on for a bit longer and they didn't charge us), hard to communicate where things are, Palermo is a hard city to walk around at times, so get yourself a good map with roads listed on it!!

I liked the location of the hotel near the Ballaro market in Palermlo. I thought the roof top terrace was a lovely feature too.

I find this hotel very pretty. The building is old but renovated, and it is nice to have a possibility to park the car in private garage. The old city center is only 200-300 meters away and everything is at walking distances. The stuff is very, very kind, even they not speak more then a few words English.

The hotel is in poor neighborhood and the breakfast should be better

The hotel was in an excellent location for access to the city centre, tourist attractions and train station. The hotel was also well staffed and safe.

The breakfast was limited to coffee, juice and croissant. This did not change for the duration of my 7 days at Hotel Cortese.

Nearby market has excellent choice of local fruits

All TV-channels are in Italian, WI-FI is pretty sluggish, staff has not learnt any English yet:(
